A community for researchers working at the intersection of political science and psychology in the Netherlands.
๐ Open to all researchers & studentsJoin us for presentations featuring political psychology work from diverse disciplines by both junior and senior researchers, followed by drinks. This time, we will again feature a poster session, in which junior researchers are invited to present their work related to political psychology. Please feel warmly invited to sign up and spread this call to junior researchers you think may be interested. If you're interested in presenting a poster, please indicate this when filling in the sign-up form (see link below). We are again able to sponsor the printing costs for junior researchers who are in need of this support in order to present their poster. PhD position โ A.I. Feels project (University of Amsterdam)
We are looking for a PhD candidate to be part of the A.I. Feels interdisciplinary research project. A.I. Feels investigates how the use of emotion-sensitive A.I. chatbots by key politicians and civil servants affects policymaking. The project studies this using different disciplinary perspectives, including political psychology, political communication, human-machine communication, interpretative approaches and the political sociology of emotions. The PhD candidate will work with Rosa Sanchez, Carolin Ischen, and Gijs Schumacher.
Call for edited book proposals โ Routledge Global Perspectives in Political Psychology series
Cengiz Erisen and I (Martijn van Zomeren) are looking for new edited book proposals in our Routledge Global Perspectives in Political Psychology series โ see the titles so far at that link.
The format is quite fitting for bringing together a collection of perspectives and insights/findings on a societally relevant topic. Chapters can range from theoretical to empirical, and from review of published research to novel primary studies. The focus is political psychology, which is an interdisciplinary field with psychology and political science as key audiences (but also sociology, philosophy, and communication science). Proposals are developed with the series editors (Cengiz Erisen and myself) and then contracted with the book editor(s).
Please contact me if you are interested in editing a book in the series, have questions, or would like to know more: Martijn van Zomeren, m.van.zomeren@rug.nl.
